larceny

August 2, 2010

Yes I made this salad of watermelon , locally grown sun-sweetened grape tomatoes and creamy (French) sheep’s milk feta cheese with a dose of pungent aged balsamic vinaigrette. But I have to admit I have seen it in some cooking mags and had something like it during a surprisingly innovative meal in a restaurant near by. Sometimes all you need to do is change one thing to call it your own.  How about capers?   No reason to reinvent the wheel…

Spicy, you have a keen eye for detail. I added the capers to the post and mistakenly referred to the feta as goat cheese. By the way that was lemon thyme garnishing and also used in the dressing. You rock. See you soon.

I’m on cruise control when I have the rare opportunity to catch up on donny buffet entries…the proverbial magic carpet ride through a mouth watering fantasyland…if only my lack of patience to replicate these morsels could be substituted by the presence of the chef himself…soon enough I guess.

Sooner than later. Buffet and Boil are bound to bang beers blessing baby brother’s b-day. Better beware.
